I grew up in New York and, like the former occupants of the Polo Grounds (the N.Y. Giants), I traveled west to the Bay Area of California three decades later.  In between those years, I learned of God's call in my life during my high school years and entered Gettysburg Seminary after completing my college work at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.  Joan and I met while we were both in college and were married after I finished my first year at Seminary.  My son, Alex, joined our household during my ministry in Omaha.

Shepherd of the Hills is the fourth congregational call I have accepted.  We began in rural Nebraska, almost into Wyoming, then moved east to Omaha, and then came to Santa Rosa, California to begin a congregation there in 1987.  In 2005, I came to Vacaville to shepherd this community into its next pastor.  Little did I know that God was putting us together to form an exciting and joyful partnership.

In my off time, I enjoy traveling with Joan, golfing, woodworking, and reading.  I am also an avid sports fan.
