A Case for Hope is a service oriented small group and we have been making pillowcases since the inception of small groups at Shepherd of the Hills.
Our main outreach is community oriented to groups such as Opportunity House, Mission Solano, and "Baskets of Hope", which is a local grass roots that gives Easter baskets to children and young mothers in need.
We also donate pillowcases to those who have experienced a disaster such as property loss due to fires, hurricanes, or super storms.
Annually, we donate pillowcases to the Harvest fest in the fall and the SHY dinner in the spring. Lastly, we give pillowcases to those in need within our own church community.
Many people generously donate fabric. It takes about a yard and a quarter to make each pillowcase. We enjoy one another's company once a month at either leader's home and put together "packets" which members take home, sew, and bring back to the next meeting. We meet the second Tuesday of the month in the evening from September to June and usually close out the year with a potluck.
